The City of New York is giving away free nicotine patches to anyone who lives in the five boroughs. Dial 311 to be connected to the program.

I already called. I'm not ready to quit yet, but I'm close, and the patches are expensive. They sent the whole step-down program. This takes away a bit of the sting of cigarettes going up to $8 a pack due to Mayor Bloomberg's fun new tax, and not being able to smoke in bars anymore.
